Russian Cat's Eye Jade Pendant
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
I just posted this new beautiful pendant on Etsy. I realized that we didn't have anything that had a green stone in it, in our store. I didn't want to get pinched by the cyberspace-st. patty's day-monitor, whomever that may be, because we didn't have any green for St. Patrick's Day! =) It has Russian Cat's Eye Jade set in solid sterling silver. This stone is so cool, and so RARE! Where it is mined, there is very little that is actually comes out of the ground. It has this really amazing cats eye sheen to it, that doesn't show up in pictures either.

Kachina Doll Necklace
Today I am going to post our Kachina Doll Necklace! This piece is truly a work of art. Years ago during the turquoise craze of the 70's my Dad commissioned a gifted wax carver to research and hand carve the Hopi Indian Kachina Dolls. This necklace has exact reproductions of authentic Kachina's. Each one of these has its own story.
The dolls on this necklace are masterfully detailed and each Kachina doll represented here is a work of art. The Eagle Dancer sits at the base of the necklace and we have put a piece of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise to beautifully accent the dolls. The entire necklace is made in solid sterling silver.
In Hopi, the term Kachina, means "life-bringer." A Kachina can represent anything in life, from a concept to an element. There are over 400 Kachina's in Hopi culture. They are traditionally used to help children learn about the myths in their culture and may be one of the most ancient toys there are.
Not only is this an amazing, intricately cool piece of jewelry, it is also a very special piece to own, because of the story it tells and the long history of the Kachina Doll.
There are some really interesting websites and articles out there about the Kachina Doll (that helped me understand them better too!). Of course, wikipedia as a great concise article on the Kachina. And the Encyclopedia Britannica has an interesting article on the history of the Kachina doll as a toy if you have access to that site.

14k Hand-Engraved 8mm Comfort Fit Wedding Band

Nate has just finished another beautiful engraved band. This one is wider than the first one. It is so elegant.
It is a beautiful, vintage style, hand-engraving that exudes the immense appeal of this disappearing art form. It has a look and quality that simply cannot be achieved by machine. Expertly created in our studio by Nathan, this beautiful, heirloom piece represents hours of demanding and highly skilled handwork.
